September is recovery month and this fundraiser is all about supporting free resources for those in recovery! The Phoenix is a nationwide, volunteer based nonprofit that provides free fitness/art/music classes and recovery resources to anyone with 48 hours of consecutive sobriety. No truer words than the opposite of addiction is connection.
Over the last 3 years it became increasingly apparent I had a wee bit of what they call a substance use disorder. Like much of my decisions in recent years, I moved to Denver impulsively by the seat of my pants. Luckily, I quickly stumbled upon an organization called The Phoenix as I am inarguably a lucky duck.
I got sober shortly before I turned 30 on May 10th after struggling with my alcohol abuse and its compounded effects on my mental health for the better part of 10 years. The community The Phoenix provides has been invaluable in maintaining that and I'm honestly still mind blown it exists for free. Helping people in a judgement free, safe space has been a lovely thing to witness and experience.
Please help me support The Phoenix by making a donation through my page. The process is fast, easy and secure. Thanks so much for your support... and please don't forget to send this page to any friends you think might be interested in donating!
