Grace
One benchmark workout for the month of September. Register for $48 — enough to fund a full year of free Phoenix programming for one person in recovery — then do Grace wherever you train and post your time to the Top Goats leaderboard.
The Phoenix believes the barbell can do what nothing else could. Fitness and community, free for anyone with 48 hours of sobriety.
Since 2006, The Phoenix has helped hundreds of thousands of people rise from addiction through free strength training, climbing, running, yoga, and community events. No fees, no insurance, no barriers — just 48 hours sober and the will to show up.
This September, the fitness community lifts for it. Every Goat who registers funds a year of that programming for one more person. Thirty clean & jerks is the easy part.

& jerks
Grace is one of the most storied benchmark workouts in fitness: one barbell, thirty reps, all out. Elite athletes finish in under ninety seconds. Most of us take a few minutes longer — and that’s the point. It’s short enough for anyone to take on and honest enough to hurt.
Do it any day in September. At your box, in your garage, with your crew or on your own. Then log your time and take your spot on the board.
The benchmark as written. 30 clean & jerks at 135 lb (men) or 95 lb (women). Ground to overhead, any style — power clean and push jerk, squat clean and split jerk, dealer's choice.
Pick a weight that lets you move well and finish strong — barbell, dumbbells, or whatever your gym has. Same 30 reps, same clock, same leaderboard. Finishing is the win.
- 01Barbell (or dumbbells, scaled) starts on the ground each rep.
- 02Finish locked out overhead: knees, hips, and elbows extended, bar over mid-line.
- 03Any style counts — power or squat clean, push press, push jerk, or split jerk.
- 04Clock runs from “3-2-1 go” to the 30th locked-out rep. Record your time.
- 05Going for a competitive time? Film it — fast times need video to hit the board.
One workout. One year of recovery for someone who needs it.

Put your gym on the board.
Host Grace at your box in September — program it as your WOD, run heats, chalk up the whiteboard. Official host gyms are featured here in front of the whole herd. It costs nothing to host; your athletes register as individuals and every $48 funds a year of recovery.
Questions? Chalk talk.
No. Grace is one barbell and 30 reps — RX it if you train, scale the load if you're newer, use dumbbells if that's what you have. The Scaled division exists so anyone can finish, and finishing is the whole point.
Anywhere, any day from September 1–30. Your affiliate, a globo gym, your garage. If your box is an official host gym, do it there with your crew — check the Host Gyms section for gyms running Grace heats.
One full year of free Phoenix programming for one person in recovery. The Phoenix uses fitness and community to help people rise from addiction — 48 hours of sobriety is the only membership requirement, and your registration covers a year of it for someone.
After you register, log in to your fundraiser dashboard and claim it from the Rewards tab — pick your size, enter your shipping address, and it ships on demand. The first 100 registrants receive the founder patch.
Submissions open September 1 in your dashboard. Log your time, pick your division (RX or Scaled, Men or Women), and it appears on the Top Goats board once reviewed. Top three in each division win the goat trophy.
Only if you're fast. Times under the competitive threshold require a video link (unlisted YouTube, Instagram, Google Drive — anything viewable) to be board-eligible. Everyone else is on the honor system, though we'll never say no to seeing your 30 reps.
Absolutely. Registering creates a personal page — share it and friends and family can donate on top of your registration. Every additional $48 is another year of recovery funded. But there's no minimum and no obligation.
