Recovery has changed my life, and it continues to change it every day.
This November, I’m running 13.1 miles at the Monterey Bay Half Marathon with Sobrieteam to raise money for The Phoenix.
My addiction wants me disconnected, isolated, and alone. Recovery has shown me the opposite: healing happens through connection, community, and people who choose to show up for one another.
The Phoenix provides free sober active programming for people in recovery. According to The Phoenix, $48 can provide one person with a full year of free programming.
For this first Miles That Matter, I’m keeping the goal simple and tangible:
$48 = 1 person
$480 = 10 people
My goal for these 13.1 miles is to help open the door to recovery, movement, and connection for 10 people.
Every dollar donated through this page goes directly to The Phoenix.
13.1 miles. 10 people. One step toward making recovery accessible to everyone.
Thank you for being part of it.
