01 — Story

Maine Marathon 2026

We did not start as a team. We started as a group of people who kept showing up to the same gym, the same trails, the same early morning workouts, and somewhere along the way we became something more.

That is what The Phoenix does. It turns strangers into teammates and teammates into family. Not because anyone planned it that way, but because showing up consistently for yourself in a room full of people doing the same thing creates a bond that is hard to explain and even harder to walk away from.

We are fundraising together for The Giving Bridge because we know firsthand what it means to have a community that shows up for you. On the days when the workout is brutal. On the days when staying sober is harder than any workout. On the days when you just need someone to text back.

Recovery is not a solo sport. It never was. The people on this team know that better than most.

Every dollar we raise goes toward keeping The Phoenix free and accessible for anyone ready to build a new life. No dues. No barriers. Just show up with 48 hours of sobriety and the community takes care of the rest.

We are building the bridge together. Come find us on the other side.

Fit to be King

I started showing up to The Phoenix because someone I loved was struggling and I didn't know what else to do. I thought I was there to help. Turns out I needed it just as much. Recovery doesn't happen in isolation. It happens in a gym at 6am when someone you just met is cheering you on. It happens on a trail when you're too tired to think about anything but putting one foot in front of the other. It happens in a parking lot after a workout when the conversation goes longer than it should and nobody wants to leave. That's what The Phoenix builds. Not just programs. Not just events. The kind of community that makes you want to show up even when you don't feel like it, and keeps you coming back because something in you knows it matters. I'm fundraising for The Giving Bridge because I've seen what happens when people have access to this community and what happens when they don't. The difference is real and it's worth fighting for. If you've been touched by addiction, recovery, or the people navigating both, you already know why this matters. If you haven't, trust me when I say your donation does more than you think. Every dollar goes toward keeping The Phoenix free and accessible for anyone with 48 hours of sobriety. No barriers, no cost, no catching up. Just show up. Help me build the bridge.
